More Huge Numbers for ‘Big Brother’

The CBS reality show “Big Brother” Two nights after drew its largest audience of the summer, it broke that record on Thursday, attracting 8.6 million viewers at 8, more than half a million above its Tuesday showing, according to Nielsen’s preliminary estimates. CBS easily led the night over all, with preseason football pre-empting some networks’ schedules in some parts of the country. Fox was runner-up with reruns of “Bones” (5.8 million) and “Fringe” (4.8 million), and NBC was third with comedy repeats followed by “Law & Order” (5.2 million). ABC finished fourth with reruns of “Grey’s Anatomy” at 8 (4.6 million) and 9 (5 million), followed by “Private Practice” at 10 (3.6 million).
